The Chinese Zodiac Signs
According to a legend, Buddha had invited many animals to himself, but only twelve animals accepted his invitation. Buddha rewarded each animal that appeared according to the order of arrival with its own year in regular rotation of twelve years. During its year, each animal was to influence the destiny of the people born during that time. The order of their arrival determines the annual sequence of the Chinese zodiac signs until today.
To which character you belong, you can easily find out
Twelve animals make up the Chinese zodiac signs. Each year is assigned an animal that represents different characteristics. It is exciting to see how differently the individual signs are valued in Chinese culture. What is not seen very positively in the European area (pig, snake, goat - who wants to be such a thing - these are swear words), have here a completely different, unexpectedly positive image.
Every 12 years the circle begins anew. The Chinese characters are:
- Rat
- Buffalo
- Tiger
- Bunny
- Dragon
- Snake
- Horse
- Goat
- Monkey
- Rooster
- Dog
- Pig
